Mother's Day Ideas You Wouldn't Think About

Hello

I hope my dissappearance isn't killing you too much. It is end of March and soon to be April so that means "coursework", "exams", "MCQ", "grades", etc. It is getting to a hard point so please bear with me if I'm dissappearing.

Mother's Day is this Sunday (today) and I kept seeing posts about it around but it didn't show the actual date. Now I'm starting to realise that it's only a week away so I thought I might dedicate a post about it.
Disclaimer: this is for a bit of fun or as some of you say "banter"

This is what you could possibly give your mothers on Sunday:

1. Pay her bill (phone, electricity, gas, water, council,  etc.)

2. Take her grocery shopping, if you have a car, driver her to shopping, carry all her shopping and possibly pay for them in the till. Actually, you don't even to take her, get a list from her and buy more than necessary of  good quality.

3. Clean you room for once finally

4. Clean the whole house, including the toilet. Yes! The toilet as well. And your room... again

5. Give her a massage and pamper her.

6. Turn up at home with something you bought at a great bargain. It doesn't need to be for her but it should be a good bargain.

7. Cook her something, possibly without burning the house down.

8. Lastly, remind her how much you love her and appreciate her, but this is not a one-off thing. You should do this more often, not just on mother's day and let her be proud of you.

You can follow these or not, it's upto you but these are just for a bit of humour. It is upto you to choose what to do for her. Make her feel like the best mother if you are unable to do this any other time due to some reasons.

Make sure to check back every weekend  (hopefully) for a new post

Surprise Recipes

Hello

Let's move on from the emotional theme and get into the creative theme. It feels like ages since I last posted but the damn assessments require more priority so it may be the case of my disappearance if I have assessments in the future (which I do very soon).

I have two recipes for you today. One is edible and the other is inedible (although that is subjective as the ingredients are edible). The first one was requested and the second one is a bonus from me as it helped me a lot, so... Here we go!

1. Chow Mein (simple)

Ingredients

- Egg noodles
- Ginger
- Onion
- Oil
- Peppers
- Frozen mix veg
- Baby corn
- Mushroom
- Salt
- Black pepper

For the marinade:
- Dark soy sauce, 4 tbsp
- Brown sugar, 1 tbsp
- Vinegar, splash
- Water, splash
- Dry red chilli flakes, pinch

Method:

- Follow the instructions given in the egg noodles pack of how to boil it.
- While waiting for the noodles to boil, prepare the marinade by putting everything in a small bowl and mixing it together.
- Prepare the veg by chopping them in small pieces if required. Only the ginger has to be cut in julienne slices.
- In a wok, heat up some oil. Add the chopped ginger and onion and fry it till it is semi golden.
- Add the rest of the veg  (peppers, mix veg, baby corn and mushroom) and fry them till they do not look raw.
- Add the boiled noodles and stir everything together till it is well incorporated.
- Add the marinade sauce prepared beforehand and give everything a good mix.
- Soy sauce is normally salty so extra salt is not required. Still, taste it and add salt and black pepper according to own liking.

Done

2. Dry skin (moisturising) face mask

Ingredients:

- Rolled oats, 2tbsp
- Yogurt, 2 tbsp
- Honey, 2 tsp
- Rose water, splash

Method:

- Take the rolled oats and grind it with your fingertips
- Add the yogurt and mix together
- Let it sit for 2 minutes
- Add the honey and rose water then mix well
- Apply it on your face or where desired and wash it off after 20-30 minutes.

Done

I hope you enjoyed these quick recipes, which is unusual because they do not go together but hey, I don't have to follow any rules, it is my own site 😂

Make sure to check back next weekend, where I will hopefully have a new post up.
