Hair Remedies

Hello!

For the past couple of weeks, the state of my hair has been giving me stress. I have a lot of hair fall and flakiness. As someone who does not need to care about hair, it is quite stressful and makes you self-conscious. I finally decided to give a damn about my current hair condition and do something. Not only that, I thought I would help you if you are experiencing hair problems.

These are some of the things you can try at home:

Dandruff:

- Aspirin: crush it and mix it with your ordinary shampoo. Shampoo your hair with it like normal, making sure it stays in your hair for 1-2 minutes.

- Baking soda: Rub it on dry scalp for a while and wash your hair with shampoo.

-Vinegar/Lemon juice: Spray/apply it under and over your scalp or and keep it for 5-10 minutes. Wash your hair with shampoo as usual.

- Mouthwash: Use it the same method as above.

- Aloe vera: Apply the gel like a hair mask and leave it on for around 10 minutes.

- Salt: Use it the same way as baking soda

Oily:

- Vinegar/Lemon juice: Same way as above

- Black tea: Make strong black tea the normal way. Wash your hair with the tea and rinse it off normally.

- Aloe vera: Use it the same way as above

- Baking soda: Same way as above

- Egg: Beat it normally. If desired, mix it with yogurt or any other ingredient above. Apply all over the scalp and leave it on for 10-20 minutes then wash your hair like normal.

Dry/Frizzy:

- Avocado: Mash the avocado and apply all over the scalp like a hair mask. Wash it off like normal. Use shampoo for proper cleanliness.

- Banana: Use the same way as avocado.

- Coconut oil: If it is solid, melt it in the microwave for a couple of seconds. Massage it through your scalp for a while and leave it on for one night or at least 3 hours. Wash it with shampoo in the shower

- Olive oil: Same method as coconut oil but no need to melt it.

- Egg: Use the same way as above.

- Honey: Mix it it yogurt or any other element above and apply through the scalp as a hair mask and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with water and shampoo.

- Yogurt: Mix it with honey (optional)  or leave it as it is. Apply through the scalp and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with water and shampoo.

Hair loss:

- Onion: Blend with and extract the juice of the onion. Apply it the same way as vinegar/lemon juice as explained above. Then rinse it off

- Coconut oil: Same way as above

- Almond oil: Same way as other oils

- Olive oil: Same way as other oils

- Aloe vera: Same way as above.

I hope you have enjoyed it and give these remedies a try. I think I'm the one who should be giving it a try but the lack of time does not allow me to do anything else than what's important.

Make sure to check back every weekend for a new post

Take care

Phone Backup Precautions

Hey!

I am late again and I don't think I can make excuses. If I had to give a reason then I would say "this is the result of having 3 different jobs". Apologies! Anyway...

Last Monday my phone died... It was a nightmare for me. Gradually the more I thought about it I calmed down because I ONLY lost ALL my contacts and some of my media. I save my stuff in the micro SD card so that was an advantage. After a week of suffering and learning my lesson, here I am to warn you that anything can happen to your phone as well, e.g. lost, stolen, broken, crash, etc.

These are some tips I suggest you follow so if anything happens, you are sorted:

iPhone users:

- Save content in iCloud
- Backup your phone every now and then on iTunes. If something happened to your phone and got a new iPhone, everything would appear on the new one from the old one.
- If you are planning to switch to an Android/Google (and make a good decision), there is an app called Copy My Data, you need a google account/mail and follow the steps in the app. It will allow you to save your pictures and contacts as they are the hardest ones to extract from Apple devices.

I am not an iPhone user and it is out of my understanding why people use apple products in the first place... But these are the tips I would give after dealing with certain iPhone users.

Android/Google users:

- GOOGLE is everything! Trust me! I did not understand this until my phone died and used my google account to my new phone and almost ALL my media were backed up to Google Photos automatically.
- Make sure the automatic backups are turned on with Google.
- Sync your phone with your Google account every now and then.
- When you save your contacts, save it to Google, not SIM or Device. This way all your contacts are safe, no matter what happens to your phone.

Windows phone users:

-Backup everything in OneDrive from your phone.

It is slightly more advantageous for Windows phone users because windows PC and laptops automatically have OneCloud so even if you switched to another you would only have to copy and paste from your laptop's/PC's OneDrive

General tips:

- Keep a copy of your valuable/memorable contents on your computer
- Save as many files as possible in micro SD cards if your phone has the feature to use micro SD cards.
- Keep track of roughly what apps you use and any unnecessary ones, delete them. It is best to keep it as less content as possible for the RAM.
- Refresh/Reset/Backup-Restore your phone once every 6-8 months to refresh the internal system. This is where I went wrong and did nothing to my phone being scared I would lose all my data and at the end, everything lagged and charge would run out in 1-2 hours of light usage.
- Remember passwords. If not at least reset them so you are ready to face the consequences if anything happens and it makes life a bit easy.

Remember, your phone can go any moment, there is no guarantee, just like our lives.......

If you are interested to know, I got the OnePlus 3T. It is the latest model and really worth the price. You might have seen the posters around London Underground. I have been using it for 3 days and as of now, I highly recommend it!  Here is the link if you want to check it out: https://oneplus.net/uk/3t
If you would like it buy it, I suggest to get it from their website (the link I provided) and not O2 or Amazon. These are the only 3 places available to buy currently. #nospons
I customised mine, they do not come like this.

I hope the post was helpful and I apologise for such a late post. Make sure to check back every Saturdays. Feel free to recommend what you would like to read next.

Take care

Online Shopping

Hello!

Happy (late) New Year! I hope you have been having a good year so far, although it has only been 7 days.

OMG! Can we talk about online shopping!? It is pure madness. A few years ago, I could not imagine what shopping from is like. It was like those fairy tales that you can purchase something without leaving home. Now I get something in the post every week and my dad's sarcastic way of telling me like "What did Miss Nafiza Mamun order now?" which is why now I'm trying to find a way of getting my deliveries in my local post office or someone's house. Anyway, I am still in trouble from my previous orders and I am expecting more parcels the upcoming week. Quite pathetic of me. I think I need a secret PO Box to be honest.

I am addicted to online shopping, and I guess some of you are too. Thing is, as someone who is proper busy with no time to physically go shopping and lazy, I always reach for something that will get delivered to my door. The items online are fresh so no customers have used it before as they come from the storage and there is more to choose from. In terms of delivery charges, hands down Ebay is free most of the time, they have a good way of attracting their customers. All in all, it is pretty good.

BUT

It is not so good...

There is way too much option. That is not good for someone like me. It wastes my time. This is me: "Okay so the pen refills are £4 with free delivery on Ebay but a new pen with refill is £5 on Amazon. If I buy from Amazon, I am going to have to spend £20 for free delivery because I'm not paying £4 for delivery. Now that I remember, I need a hand mixer. There are Kenwood hand mixers for £15. Sorted!" Oh please stupid brain, I just need a pen refill and guess what? I also ordered the pen refill from Ebay for "future stocking" and glass wipes and Peppermint oil. Like what the hell? What was I thinking back then?

Then I open my online bank... Boom! My account linked to PayPal has £2 left from last month's wages. (Note: I get paid around £45 a month ONLY). I was probably thinking that someone will pay it for me or give it for free... 😒. Well at least I can bake cakes and cheesecakes with my hand mixer (yay).

Delivery prices! Arghhh!!! Amazon why you do this to me? Amazon has better quality products than Ebay. But I can't spend flipping £20 on crap I don't need when I only need to spend £3. Otherwise pay £4 for Standard delivery, like please don't get too gassed Amazon, I could buy this from Ebay for cheaper. Chill! What are the options then? Ebay, spend £20 for nothing or forget it. I would die but I refuse to pay for that crappy delivery service which will arrive after a month and then go through all the complaining crap which no one bothers to do so.

Not only Amazon but normal shops that have online shopping, e.g. WHSmiths or Wilko. Get it delivered at home, pay them more. Get it delivered to the nearest store, FREE! What? Listen, it takes the same amount of fuel to get it delivered to the store as to my house, why are you making me leave home?

When there are offers, Lord save me and my bank account now... I will see "Half Price!, 50% off!, 70% off!, 3 for 2!" etc. and I go mad. I am already broke so why do I need to buy another USB cable only because it was half price? It probably was the same price and they just labelled it as "half price" because it was not selling. Well, I ordered it, can't be asked to cancel it now and I never cancel anything! I wait till it arrives and investigate properly if I need it or not. If I don't need it, click refund and run off to my local post office and pay £2.95 in there to get that £5 back... yeah.... Please tell me I'm not alone...

Let me tell you a story:

A few months ago my uncle back home needed a power bank so I agreed to get it for him. After thorough research, I found a good deal and bought it. It said "delivery between 3-5 days" so that's good because the person going back home is leaving in 10 days. After a few days I found an even better deal so I bought that one too trying to cancel the previous order. It did not cancel, so I was like leave it. I will return it when it comes. The one I ordered afterwards (better deal one) came just on time so she could take it to my uncle. The first order did not come. I'm checking my account/orders and without notification the delivery date changed to 20 days after order day. I'm there thinking "WT*" What could I do now, I will just wait. After 20 days I am in lecture and my brother texts me "Sis when did you order a FLUTE?" I'm a bit confused because I did not order a flute and I am not into music anyway so. I come home and in a huge box I find AN ACTUAL FLUTE with a whole bunch of scrap paper. Then it came to my mind that the delivery box is in my name and the damn power bank never came so this must be the power bank but the wrong delivery. I contacted them and told them this is what happened and clearly stated I AM NOT READY TO PAY FOR THE RETURN FEE and they were kind enough to arrange free collection from home. Then they refund me the price of the flute. Bruh I payed more for what I actually wanted. Had to contact them again and got my full refund back. That, ladies and gents, is an example of a stingy enthusiast.

2. I wanted a single eyeshadow from Kiko. It is around £9 and randomly online it appeared to be £4.40 and I got excited. Put it in my basket and tried to buy it. Pop up comes "minimum spend £25 before checkout". Excuse me! What on earth? What about those of us who want just one thing delivered in store for free. So it did not allow me. I went to the store and the people there say "Oh, it is just an online offer" No it's not! It is a flipping spam in the website. Very unlike me but I gave up. Dreams shattered, no eyeshadow 😞

Moral of the post, shop safely kids!

I hope you enjoyed it and make sure to check back every Saturdays for a new post.
